History
The Timothy Project was founded in
January 2004 as a ministry arm of Golden Gate Community Church and La Viņa
of San Francisco.
Effective October 2006,
Timothy Project is sponsored by the Northern California District Church of the
Nazarene.
In April 2004, Timothy Project
partnered with Slidedeck (www.slidedeck.org),
a PowerPoint™ editing service. The company was an entrepreneurial effort where
inner-city San Francisco youth were trained and employed to create presentations
for clients.
Since 2005, youth are provided
opportunities for leadership development, Christ-like character development, and
discipleship through employment with Timothy Project, our small groups and
workshops, and community artistic events. The Timothy Project
facilitates relationships between youth and adult mentors.
